Accessibility Statement
We want everyone who visits the Valdez City Schools website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
What are we doing?
It is the intent of Valdez City Schools that the information on its website be accessible to individuals with disabilities in compliance with the requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the statute’s implementing regulations at 34 C.F.R. Part 104, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the statute’s implementing regulations at 28 C.F.R. Part 35.
To help us make the VCS website a positive place for everyone, we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We chose Level AA as the target for all VCS websites.
Please note that some pages on the Valdez City Schools website contain links to third party sites, which are not within the district’s control and may not comply with accessibility standards. The district is not responsible for the content or accessibility of third party sites.
How are we doing?
If you encounter any issues accessing content on the VCS website, or encounter difficulties using assistive technologies with posted content, please contact the VCS Webmaster at webmaster@valdezcityschools.org and provide the URL (web address) of the material you tried to access, the problem you experienced, and your contact information so that we can provide the information in another format.
General feedback on website usability should be directed to the Webmaster at webmaster@valdezcityschools.org. All submissions will be routed to the appropriate department for further review and response.
