Welcome Back to School, Students and Families!

I am thrilled to welcome you all back for another exciting school year here at Gilson Middle School. As the new principal, having recently moved from Utah, I am excited to join this wonderful community and experience the unique beauty, warmth (and snow) that Alaska has to offer.

Whether you spent your summer exploring the great outdoors, enjoying quality time with family, or engaging in new hobbies, I hope you all had a refreshing and enjoyable break. As we embark on this new academic journey, we are committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where every student can thrive both academically and personally.

Our dedicated team of teachers and staff have been working to prepare engaging lessons and activities that will inspire curiosity and creativity. We are thrilled to launch our Flex Friday pilot program, designed to improve the way we learn and grow together! This exciting new initiative will provide personalized support and enrichment opportunities, ensuring every student gets the help they need or the challenge they crave.
